Swap content order on mobile with Enfold’s new column behaviour

Paul Stratford, Creative Director

We tested Kriesi’s new Column behaviour feature in Enfold to see how easy it is.

Changing the order that content appears between Mobile and Desktop is now made easier on Kriesi’s Enfold theme with a simple numbering process. And it’s good for SEO too. Here’s how…

Numerical order

__

Column behaviour: Columns appear on desktop in just the order you lay them out in the Avia, Advanced Editor. In this example we show how to simply swap the image on the left to appear after the Logo and contact form when it’s in mobile view.

On the Desktop version, the colourful packaging image from Enfold’s demo is shown on the left, with the 2nd column next to it showing a Logo and form.

Example shows the unaltered version, with the MyWP yellow logo pushed below the image.

Example shows the column with the logo and form altered to first position on mobile.

The clever bit: By numbering the columns ‘1-5’ you can change the order they appear when on mobile devices. See how to do this below:

Impact: This feature enables you to stop duplicating content which is hard to manage. By just using one version, with numerical controls, it’s easier for editing and better for Google.

Effort: 2/5 –Very easy if you follow the steps below – see our example here >
